Four roles, one review

Each editor holds one or more roles. What a role may do is a checkbox per capability, which an admin changes in the CMS without a deploy.

Roles

Who can do what

The defaults the CMS starts with.

  • Author

    Creates and edits pages, uploads images and sends a draft to review. Cannot publish.

  • Reviewer

    Everything an author does, and approves or rejects a page in review, with a note.

  • Approver

    Publishes and schedules approved pages, deletes pages, and edits the header, footer and redirects.

  • Admin

    Holds every capability: publishes without review, manages accounts and decides what the other roles may do.

Notices

The next person hears about it

When a page goes into review, reviewers get a notice. When it is approved, approvers do, and when it is rejected, every author gets the note. The person who made the move gets none.
